PLAYER NOTES: --F Troy Murphy looked the like the player the Pacers envisioned when they traded for him nearly two years ago. Murphy, who team president Larry Bird said will have a career season, had 13 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in 38 minutes.
--F Danny Granger made up for his preseason shooting slump. The fourth-year swingman, who is trying to make one last run at getting a contract extension of up to five years, scored 33 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Granger also showed off his new aggressiveness of going to the basket by going 11-of-12 from the free throw line.
--C Roy Hibbert didn't exactly have the type of NBA debut the Pacers would have liked. The No. 17 pick went from being a solid rotation player to one that may end up getting only spot minutes after scoring just two points and no rebounds in six minutes. He didn't play in the second half.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Mike Dunleavy (knee) is sidelined indefinitely because of tendinitis in his right knee. Dunleavy, the Pacers second leading scorer last season, played just 12 minutes in the preseason and has only taken part in one practice since training camp started in late September.
