 --NBA personnel and USA Today readers agreed on four Indiana Pacer players for the paper's best starting five of all time for each franchise. The readers and personnel agreed on Reggie Miller, Mel Daniels, George McGinnis and Jermaine O'Neal. NBA personnel picked Roger Brown as the fifth member of the team, while the readers selected Detlef Schrempf for the newspaper. --The Pacers, who were last in attendance last season, are changing how they conduct their pre-draft workouts in an attempt to get fan attention. The Pacers, who will have the No. 11 pick in the draft, are opening up their workouts to the media for the first time in years. Several mock drafts have the Pacers taking either Texas' D.J. Augustin, UCLA's Russell Westbrook or Kevin Love, also from UCLA, with their first-round pick. QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'd probably carry something in my pocket if we had like a 25 percent chance to get No. 1. With one percent, you just hope they don't call your name too early." -- Pacers president Larry Bird, on his team's 0.8 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick in the draft lottery.
