--To no one's surprise, the Pacers didn't get lucky in the draft lottery. The Pacers, who had less than a one percent chance of moving into the top three, will have the 13th pick in the June 25 draft. Point guard and power forward are two positions they might address through the draft. Syracuse's Jonny Flynn, Virginia Commonwealth's Eric Maynor and North Carolina's Ty Lawson are point guards Indiana will look at, while power forward James Johnson of Wake Forest and DeJuan Blair of Pittsburgh are also players that may be available at No. 13.
--Pacers team president Larry Bird, along with film director Steven Spielberg, was given an honorary degree at Boston University. Bird, who played his college ball at Indiana State, spent his entire 13-year career with the Boston Celtics. --Pacers equipment manager Joey Qatato is suing locked out point guard Jamaal Tinsley. The suit says the back door lock of Tinsley's 2007 Rolls Royce could only be controlled by the driver, and Tinsley and the driver ignored Qatato's pleas as they fled into the lobby of a downtown Indianapolis hotel in December 2007. Qatato suffered gunshots to both elbows as gunmen opened fire outside the hotel.
