--It's bad enough that the Pacers suffered their worst loss of the season Friday. It's even worse when two bench players combined to outrebound the entire starting five. Dallas' Kris Humphries and James Singleton combined for 21 rebounds. The Pacers' starters combined for 10 rebounds. "Rebounding is purely about heart and drive," said Pacers forward Danny Granger. "For whatever reason we didn't take care of the boards. I don't think we had one guy in double figures on boards." Granger was more right than he knew. Backup C Jeff Foster led the Pacers with six rebounds.
--Coach Jim O'Brien's new favorite word when talking about his team is force. He likes to use that word because his team hasn't played with any force lately. They didn't do it against Charlotte, Toronto or the Mavericks.
"If I figured it out we would be playing with force," O'Brien said. "Our staff thought our guys were really ready to play a good game. It's just clearly not acceptable from any vantage point."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We did not play tough at all. That's why we got pounded. You have to play with tremendous force and we did not and never found ourselves in the game." -- Coach Jim O'Brien.
