Indiana Pacers Getting Inside 2009-12-06

Indiana Pacers Getting Inside 2009-12-06The Pacers can't catch a break in the injury department.

All-Star Danny Granger sat out most of the second half of Saturday's loss to the Clippers after aggravating his bruised right heel.

Granger injured his heel after taking a pass from Troy Murphy and cutting early in the third quarter. He took a couple of steps before going to the ground in obvious pain. He had to be helped off the court by the team's assistant athletic trainer.

Granger, who left the Staples Center wearing a boot on his foot, said earlier that rest is the best remedy for his heel. The Pacers don't play again until Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.

"He's a key guy, leading scorer, biggest threat by far," Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said.

Mike Dunleavy, who is still slowly working his way back from knee surgery, will likely start if Granger has to miss an extended amount of time.

CLIPPERS 88, PACERS 72: The Pacers came from 10 points down early in the game to get to within two late, but then they were outscored 18-4 over the final six-plus minutes to suffer their ninth loss in the past 10 games. The Pacers hurt themselves by turning the ball over 21 times and sending the Clippers to the foul line 31 times.
