Indiana Pacers Getting Inside 2009-11-05

Indiana Pacers Getting Inside 2009-11-05Pacers coach Jim O'Brien isn't one to panic and start worrying about things he can't control. O'Brien's in that dilemma now because the Pacers, who were supposed to be a deep team, are without five players, four of which are in the playing rotation.

What does O'Brien do?

He goes with a small lineup and forces the opponent to adjust.

With forward Troy Murphy out with a back injury, O'Brien is starting a small lineup that has All-Star Danny Granger slide from small to power forward. The move works against certain teams because Granger's athletic ability allows him to beat other power forwards off the dribble and he's strong enough to defend in the post.

"I like it because it's tougher on other teams than it is on us," Granger said. "We also become more athletic and we can play our up-and-down style easier."

The Pacers hope to have Murphy back for the Nov. 11 game against Golden State.

PACERS 101, KNICKS 89: The Pacers held the Knicks to 12 percent shooting in the fourth quarter and had all five starters score in double-figures for the first time this season. The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Pacers.
